Stephen Bernard, MD
Dr. Bernard is an Intensive Care Physician at the Alfred Hospital and Knox Private Hospital, and he is the Medical Advisor to the Ambulance Service in Victoria, Australia. His research interests include the use of induced hypothermia for the treatment of neurological injury after resuscitation from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He has published the results of a number of clinical trials in this area, more recently examining the role of large-volume, ice-cold intravenous crystalloid fluid for the rapid induction of hypothermia after cardiac arrest.
