SpeakersMauro Oddo, MD, FCCM Dr. Oddo has been working for 2 years as a Visiting Research Scientist in the Division of Neurocritical Care at Columbia University in New York. He comes from Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland where he practiced as a Critical Care Physician. One of his most important publications in the field of hypothermia is entitled, “From evidence to clinical practice: Effective implementation of therapeutic hypothermia to improve patient outcome after cardiac arrest” (CCM Journal, July 2006). He also has a prospective trial that included 80 patients and focused on clinical criteria for induced hypothermia in both VF and non-VF patients. Also, he is working closely with his colleague in Lausanne, Prof. Liaudet, on mechanisms of global ischemia-reperfusion injury with a serum bank of 60 patients, and he has also collaborated with Prof. Sterz in Vienna. |
